Hey blog friends, so today was the moment of truth...did my 90 days of work pay off? Yes it did!!! We originally set the goal to lose 8 percent body fat in 90 days, but me being the competitive person I am I wanted to go further...why not 9 percent in 90 days. Well I didn't reach 9 percent, but I did reach 8 percent!
It was always nerve racking for me to step on the scale for every weigh because I wanted to make sure I was meeting my goals, well and let's be honest after a horrifying 8 week weigh I always held my breathe stepping on the scale.
At my 4 week weigh I had lost 3 percent body fat...so it looked like I was on the right track. I said to myself, "Self you deserve that cookie, piece of cake, cheeseburger, pizza..." you get the picture. So then comes the 8 week weigh in...I had GAINED 2 percent back! OH NO!!!! I cried literally, so now I have 4 weeks to lose 8 percent body fat! It was time to buckle down...no more cheat days. I started working out 6 days a week and sometimes doing two workouts a day. It wasn't easy that's the picture I am trying to set for you!
The moment of truth, Vaughn Bethell owner of www.performanceqsa.com, put me on the scale and took all my measurements. I lost 8 percent body fat, 7 of that was in 4 weeks! My weight stayed pretty constant...but here is why...I lost 11 pounds of fat, but gained 11 pounds of lean muscle mass (meaning I am more toned)! Total inches lost....drum roll please....I lost 19.5 inches of my body!!
So this challenge it was literally a challenge, but in the end I feel successful and feel better about myself. I guess that's what it is all about being happy in the body your given, and I can tell you now I am pleased with my results. Now I would like to continue on getting healthier and keep up the sweat and tears (literally) that I put in to getting where I wanted.
Little secret for you...tonight I am going to enjoy PIZZA!!!
